Pacific Breeze Landscape has a history that goes back more than 30 years. Sal Hernandez, Sr. immigrated to the U.S. in the early ‘70s in pursuit of the American Dream. After working as a laborer for a small landscaping company for several years, he started his own operation, then known as Sal’s Landscape, with only a small truck and a few tools.
Through the years, Sal introduced all of his children to the business. His eldest son, Sal, Jr., joined the military after graduating from high school. He deployed twice onboard the USS Curts (FFG-38) in support of counter-narcotic operations, and once to Afghanistan while attached to Provincial Reconstruction Team Sharana, under the 101st Airborne.
Upon his return to civilian life, Sal, Jr. earned a B.A. in Business Management and a Masters in Business Administration. He joined his father in the business utilizing his military experience and education. Today, Sal, Jr. is part owner of Pacific Breeze and is instrumental in guiding the growth of the business. He also currently serves as the Director of Membership for the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), Orange County Chapter, and has assumed a similar role with CLCA at the state level.
In 2017, Jose Acevedo, a childhood friend and military comrade of Sal, Jr., joined the team and partnered with the Hernandez family. Jose’s military experience and education parallel those of Sal, Jr. adding expertise and quality to Pacific Breeze. While in the service, Jose deployed onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in support of the Tsunami Relief for Indonesia in 2005. He also completed two West-Pacs in support of Iraqi Freedom. After his return, he earned an Associates Degree in Technology. Jose has been a valuable and most welcome addition to the Pacific Breeze family.
We pride ourselves in being a veteran-owned business with combined experience spanning over 60 years. Together, Sal Senior, Sal Junior, and Jose work side by side to provide top quality landscaping services to the community.
